As an American, I have a lot of respect for the soccer culture in Europe. I appreciate it because it seems so different from American football and baseball culture. European soccer fans seems more empassioned and loyal about their sports teams than any other kinds of fans in the world.
While in Madrid, my colleague and I visited Real Madrid's stadium. Most days of the year, you can tour the stadium for 16 euros, and was definitely worth every euro. The tour includes walking through the trophy room, the stands, the pitch, sitting in the special fans box (I think it is called the Presidential Box), sitting on the same chairs Real Madrid players sit on the sidelines, touring the visitor's locker room, visiting the press room and (of course) the gift shop.
The highlight of the tour was taking a "picture" with my favorite Real Madrid player--Sergio Ramos. Truthfully, I took a picture in front of a green screen, and they superimposed Sergio into the picture (but no one needs to know that). The picture cost 10 euros at the end of the tour.
