I give every student a small piece of paper with one part of a sentence written on it (a subject, a verb, an indirect object, and an indirect object pronoun). Tell them they need to create a complete sentence by finding the other parts of the sentence. When they have the complete sentence they come up to the teacher to see if it is correct. They can then write the correct sentence on the board or present it in front of the class when everyone is finished.
Why I like this activity:
1. It reinforces how to create a sentence in Spanish (subject + indirect object pronoun + verb + indirect object). Students come up to me to see if it is correct, and I ask them what they are missing in the sentence (most of the time it will be an indirect object or its pronoun).
2. It shows how a sentence can have both an indirect object and its pronoun in the same sentence for clarification purposes.
3. It gets students out of their seats.
4. It is a critical thinking activity.
