La computadora portatil

This past week, I spent two days at a conference that focused on using laptops in the classroom in a 1:1 program. I was left with two feelings: excitement and fear. I am excited because there are a multitude of websites and computer programs that will make communication in Spanish easier, more real-life like and fun. The possibilities truly are endless. I am FULL of fear because it seems like a lot of work, and I know that I am going to be pushed to do something different and let go of much of the control that I so crave in the classroom. Although, I must say that I felt encouraged being around other teachers that have embraced the use of laptops in the classroom. If 55-year old teachers can do after 30 years of teaching, I can do it!

A few of the programs / websites that seem most exciting:
Jing
Ning
Diigo
Voice Thread
Comic Life
Dyknow
Blogger
One Note
Atomic Learning
Wikis
and many more!

I need to spend a good amount of time this coming year playing with these programs to figure out how they best can best improve my students' proficiency in Spanish.
